Watched Big Hero 6 today- it was an incredible movie.
I love going to the movies sometimes, alone or with friends or anything really-for an hour or two you're in this temporary removal from reality, in some sort of suspended belief where the story in front of you feels more real than anything else. And sometimes it's just a plain good movie and that's the beauty of it in itself.
I've been looking forward to watching Big Hero 6 for a while, and it didn't disappoint. Loads of hilarious moments, loads of heart-wrenching moments- I remember laughing and laughing and then tearing up and then sitting there in silent shock. The reaction from the people around me in the cinema had a real sense of unity-at one point we were all laughing out loud and another point we all were in stark silence staring at the scene unfolding in front of us. It's a general, all-audience admitted animated film with loads of action and heart touching moments too-and there was no lack of emotion- ranging from tears of laughter to tears of sadness.
Don't really want to spoil any of the plot, but as for characters-I found they were pretty great, and their own personalities stuck out in a catchy way-and in my opinion the characters were a fairly diverse range of people. My personal favorite was GoGo-a complete badass who's smart and could kick some serious butt, all while being generally endearing-as she would say, "woman up!" But I loved all the rest of the characters as well-like I mentioned, a pretty awesome cast in the movie. Baymax is really, really adorable and lovable of course. I even got a Baymax toy after the movie.
Oh and hearing Fall Out Boy's song in the movie was pretty damn awesome, too.
