i visited the town/village my dad grew up in during january of 2014. it's in a rural mountain range and beside a river. here are some photos.

 turtles and tortoises are considered good luck in china.

apparently people were fighting over a plot of land here (it's beside the river-not in the photo) because it's a great place for growing vegetables

fireworks night. uncle brought me and my cousin to the riverside and we hung out with his friends while watching fireworks and stuff

 i named him Jasper
