i went on a roadtrip with a friend to europe summer of 2012 (visited many, many countries) and i decided to post the photos from it-a tad late since it's now winter of 2014, but here it is. we stayed at campsites and spent a lot of time on the bus. it was a great time. reminiscing about one of the best summers of my life so far.
here are some photos. not a too great quality camera, but the memories are priceless.
this castle is amazing and has a super long name that i can't pronounce very well (Neuschwanstein Castle). we weren't allowed to take pictures inside (it was very nice inside though, highly recommend anyone visit there if they can one day), but this is taken from a suspension bridge in the mountains facing the castle. can't really tell from this photo but the view from the bridge was one of the most magnificent sights in the world.
a man was selling handmade paintings and drawings of this castle next to the suspension bridge. i still have one i bought from him. i don't know where he is now but i hope he's doing alright. his art is very lovely.
it was raining quite hard during this day and the river was roaring and rushing forward. i was a little bit frightened but i was also in awe, everything here was so beautiful.
taken on the tour bus (one of the many long hour rides that felt surprisingly tranquil). we passed a lot of interesting sights on the way.
i bought a mask in venice and i still have it. it's hand painted and very lovely; it's black and white and has musical notes over half of it.
i had a slight stomachache when i visited venice but being on the gondola blew my breath away and was so nice that i forgot about the stomachache afterwards and had some pizza
my friend and i got lost exploring venice and nearly didn't make it back on time. but not a bad city to get lost in, i'm sure we can all agree.
a snapshot of one of the campsites we stayed in.i wonder where that tunnel leads...
The Lion Monument (Lion of Lucerne); a memorial to Swiss Guards who died in the French Revolution in 1792
i can't imagine what it's like to live in a place like this. breathtaking view.
i didn't take many photos on Jungfraujoch (it's nearly 3.5 kilometers above sea level), but this is one of them. i went ziplining on this mountain.
one of the views from the top of the Eiffel Tower
another view from the top of the Towerwe went on a boat tour on the Seine. people were very friendly and waved back at us when we crossed under bridges.
